Anne Simnowitz, LMP, CNMT

Anne graduated in 2002 from the Spectrum School of Massage in Lake Stevens, Washington. She also received extensive training and certification in St John’s Neuromuscular Therapy (CNMT). Through her travels, Anne has learned healing modalities from other cultures such as the use of heated bamboo sticks in Thailand and Chinese Tua Nai. St John’s Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is based on neurological laws which govern how the central nervous system maintains homeostatic balance. These same laws dictate how the central nervous system initiates a pain response. Pain can often be referred to an entirely different area of the body from where the root cause lies. Understanding this, Anne is able to use NMT to locate the root cause and solve the problem using soft tissue manipulation techniques which balance the central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. This therapy has very often brought patients to a healthy state when no other modality has worked.

On a more personal note, Anne has raised three children including Ariel Simnowitz - her partner in Mudra Therapeutic Massage. She is an avid rower, golfer and student exploring healthy lifestyles. Anne enjoys working with people in all stages of life.

Ariel Simnowitz, LMP

Ariel graduated in 2003 from Brenneke School of Massage, one of the country’s leading massage schools. She specializes in therapeutic massage with an affinity for sports massage and fitness. She sees massage as an integral part of athletic performance. Sports and fitness enthusiasts realize areas of chronic tension can lead to injury or impairment of performance. Ariel enjoys helping athletes of any level prepare for and recover from strenuous activities. In 2004 Ariel received her Certification in Bodywork for the Childbearing Year from the renowned Kate Jordan Seminars. This comprehensive program provides advanced massage techniques targeting the specific structural and physiological discomforts of pregnancy and postpartum. She has been most gratified to observe the relief her clients experience from pregnancy related, chronic, low back and hip pain.

Ariel’s current training includes the study of Lomi Lomi, a holistic healing tradition derived from the Native healers of Ancient Hawaii. Lomi Lomi works gently yet deeply into the body with continuous flowing strokes, totally nurturing the body and enabling the recipient to relax and heal. She is a fan of music, travel and the Seattle Sounders.
